Support for Fujitsu FibreCat systems

The FibreCAT range of storage systems are entry level models, from direct attached JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) for increasing your server's internal storage capacity, to dual RAID controller expandable arrays and even a Windows Storage Server based NAS device. Supporting both SATA or SAS hard disks, the FibreCAT storage systems were a cost effective solution for SMB environments. The SX40 could support an additional 3 shelves of disks, whereas the SX80 had a total drive capacity of 60 drives and SAS and SATA could be mixed in the same enclosure. The NX40 was based on Fujitsu's Primergy Server architecture using Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 with a maximum internal capacity of 2TB. The NX40 could be used as a gateway to the SX SAN models,  significantly increasing the effective capacity available for file level storage. The NX40 came preconfigured for ease of deployment and was aimed squarely at the small to medium enterprise (SME) market.

The FibreCAT range of storage products were in many cases a perfect fit for smaller scale deployments, but that does not mean they were not crucial to those environments. Often serving data that was just as critical as the larger scale storage systems, they were an essential component to many IT infrastructures.
