A key part of the process when decommissioning and removing obsolete IT hardware from your IT infrastructure environment is having secure knowledge that all data has been erased and wiped from hard drives, SSD’s, EFD’s and flash drives. We use NSCS (formerly CESG) HMG InfoSec standard No:5 approved Blancco professional data wiping certified software.
Our secure data erasure service can either be performed on-site in the safety of your own secure environment being monitored and witnessed by your security personnel. Alternatively, we can provide an off-site data erasure service with all material being transported via secure GPS tracked vehicles to a secure facility for certified data wiping.
Our off-site data erasure process involves all hard drives being scanned at point of collection so serial numbers can be reconciled with the certified documentation produced by the data software at the end of the secure process. The produced documentation provides you with secure knowledge that all data from all hard drives collected has been successfully erased meeting all necessary internal security compliance requirements.
BASE IT provides three different levels of data wiping depending on the sensitivity of the data.
Each of the above secure data wiping levels increases in time to process. A low level one pass actually requires two full data wipes across the entire drive, writing 1’s in the initial pass and 0’s in the second, then applying a unique reference code to identify that the certified software has successfully erased all data from the hard drive.
