The Hitachi TagmaStore AMS (Adaptable Modular Storage) series offered SAN solutions for the entry level to enterprise level requirements. The entry level AMS200 featured 2Gbps fibre channel host connectivity and supported up to 105 FC disks or 90 SATA and was primarily aimed at the SMB market. The AMS2500 however, was designed for the enterprise market, with both fibre channel (8Gbps) and iSCSI (1Gbps) host interfaces and a total capacity of 480 SAS or SATA disks. The whole range of AMS storage platforms all featured fully redundant, non-disruptive replaceable hardware components and microcode updates. Combined with Hitachi's range of SAN software packages including remote copy, point in time replication and thin provisioning and LUN resizing, the AMS systems provide a flexible and resilient SAN solution for many clients.
The AMS200, AMS500 and AMS1000 have all passed their End of Life (EOL) dates but could still be a viable solution for less critical environments or as archiving platforms. The AMS2xxx range of storage arrays are approaching their EOL dates, but are still capable of providing high throughput, low latency data access. BASE IT can assist with either a redeployment project of the legacy systems, or continued support of those systems approaching their EOL dates. Our technical understanding of Hitachi products allows us to assist our clients with either of these scenarios, providing the confidence to extend the lifespan of the hardware. With tailored support contracts, technical consultancy services and experienced field engineers, BASE IT can assist in reducing the total cost of ownership of your Hitachi products.
