Trying to understand the position of IBM N series systems can be slightly confusing and we hope that the following information may be helpful. The understood official end-of-availability for new N-series arrays was 27 May 2014. Clients are still able to upgrade various pieces of equipment for the next 12 months, but support of current N-series configurations will still continue to be available into 2018.

However, IBM will not be planning to support the N-series portfolio moving forward. This will inevitably force N series clients to understand that their organisations data is on a platform that is reaching end-of-life and support from the manufacturer.
